Lucky 13! The permits are in hand, signage is up, we got a bunch of great new volunteers and our vendors are excited for the season to get started. We look forward to seeing our returning and new patrons. Spring is bringing some rain, the new norm. It creates some challenges for the farmers, but sure as ‘rain’ the tables will start to fill up as the weeks roll on. As usual, our talented prepared food artisans are stepping up their game (fresh pasta is back!) Follow us on social media – on Tuesdays, twitter is all about what’s happening during the market and more. Instagram is a summary of the day with some extras. Facebook is a mix of both plus more.
Congratulations to Georgia who won the last basket draw of the 2018 season! And she single handedly hauled her score home.
Yes folks, it’s that time of season where we come to an end. Hope many will come on the last day to stock up on local vegetables – easy peasy with proper storage can last a few weeks for leafy greens and much longer for root vegetables. Of course baked goods and breads can be frozen, or perhaps they’ll just be eaten up right away! Several of our vendors have winter deliveries and are available at some of the year round farmers’ markets. Visit the ‘Market Purveyors’ website tab, click on the vendor name for their direct contact info.
The market is run by volunteers on a part-time seasonal basis. After Oct. 30th, our emails are not monitored on a regular basis.
Here’s a great image of the market to hold you over till May 2019. They’ll be one more post of our October Basket Draw winner to come!
Congratulations to Julia for being our September 2018 basket draw winner! Such big smiles this brings. Yes, she had someone with her to help carry it all home. One more draw, Oct. 23rd!
We have two wonderful re-useable bag options at the market. Both contribute to reducing plastics and encourage less waste.
- $4 for a new re-useable cloth bag, with all proceeds going directly to market operations. These come with custom illustrated market buttons! Super cute.
- and our free ‘leave a bag, take a bag program’. Donate your excess re-useable swag bags for folk that forget theirs. We can only accept clean (free of any food/pet residue for our allergen friends) bags. No single use grocery plastic bags.
